"Mommy, I want butterfly cupcakes"

This past weekend my *almost* 3 year old daughter came up to me in the middle of the day and asked me so politely if I could make her some butterfly cupcakes! The look on her face was so adorable and the way she asked so nicely just made me smile so big. So I decided to make her some since she had asked so very nicely!!!

They were vanilla cupcakes with a creamcheese frosting. I had some jelly beans in the *secret* candy bowl so I used those are the body and the wings I made with melted reeses peanut butter chips, since that's all I had in my cupboard at the time, lol!!!

She was so happy and I love seeing that big smile on her face!!! :0)

Father's Day Frame Idea!!!

For Father's Day I found this cute idea on SistersStuff blog page about a father's day frame for dad from the kids! It was such a cute idea I just had to do it!!! This is what it looked like!!!

Super cute huh???
So since we live in Hawaii I decided to tweak the idea a little bit and take the pictures at the beach and use sticks in stead of big cardboard letters since my 6 month old wouldn't have held it up right anyway. Also I have 4 kids and the idea was with 3 kids to spell out DAD. So this is what I did instead!!!

WE <3 YOU DAD

And since we are planning to have one last baby in the future, when there are 5 kids I will most likely do this idea again for father's day but spell out DADDY!!!! :0)

Dr. Seuss!!!

I really enjoyed making all of these Dr. Seuss themed party treats for a friends sons about a week ago. It was so much fun and the party was so colorfull! Her sons celebrated their 1st and 3rd birthday's together and just the thought of the birthday theme being Dr. Seuss got me all excited!!!

Here are the two cake/cupcakes stands that I made for the party! Tutorial below:

This cake was chocolate with a raspberry filling and covered with buttercream frosting and white MMF dots. The cupcakes were red velvet with a creamcheese frosting and cotton candy on top!!!

This cake was vanilla with a creamcheese filling and covered with MMF. The cupcakes were vanilla with buttercream frosting and each cupcake was topped with a green egg hand made from modeling chocolate!!!

Here is the "Horton hears a who" cake pop stand that I made for the party as well!!!

The cake pops were red velvet with creamcheese frosting covered with melted white chocolate that was dyed pink!!! :0)

Who loves Angry Birds? My hubby, that's who!!!

For my husbands 23rd birthday I decided to make him an Angry Birds cake since he loves playing Angry Birds all day long, lol!!!  I tried out a new buttercream fondant recipe, which was SO delicious, but unfortunetly it was pretty oily looking. But he loved it anyway, and I guess it's better to make something that looks bad and tastes good than something that looks good but taste bad, lol!!!

We put 5 candles to represent his 23rd birthday! 2 on one side and 3 on the other :0)

Hello Kitty Cake!!!

Here's  a Hello Kitty cake that I made for my daughters friends birthday back in May. It's a vanilla cake with buttercream filling and covered with MMF (Marshmallow Fondant). The Hello Kitty is hand made from modeling chocolate!!! YUM

Natalia's hand and foot print plate!!!

On the day Natalia turned 5 months old I had a last minute idea to do her hand and foot print on a plate. I had recently found a decently sized plain white plate at the thrift store for .50 cents and decided to use that since it would be perfect!!!  I grabbed some left over paint in the closet, from the kids making homecoming signs for their Dad this past November, and went to work!

Getting a 5 month old to cooperate with this part was pretty difficult. I think I had to re-do her hand print 4 or 5 times, lol!

After the hard part was over I wrote her name on the top and the date of her hand and foot print on the bottom!

I put a few other pretty dots and hearts here and there and TA-DA!!!
My older kids wanted to do a hand print plate as well, so as soon as I find 3 more nice plain white plates, I will have them do their's and post it ASAP! :0)

It's been a while!!!

I know I haven't posted anything for a while now, but it's been pretty busy around here lately and I don't expect it to slow down. With the big move coming up in about 2 months it's getting closer and closer to crunch time. Last month we had a lot going on with making cakes, mothers day and my dad coming to visit. This month hasn't slowed down any with fathers day, more cakes and planning both of my daughters birthday parties for July, which I'm totally excited about! Probably more than they are :0)
First let me update my blog with some stuff I had done last month and recently so I can catch up with my page! :0)

Mother's day gifts!

So all of the grandmother's received their mother's day gifts a few days ago and I wanted to share them with you. You could make these for any occasion really but I just thought these were so cute! They are supposed to be little photo albums with pictures of all of the grandkids. I found this idea from this blog: http://www.brownpaper--packages.com/2009/12/purse-sized-photo-brag-book.html
I just decorated each photo to be unique and all of the grandmother's loved it!

Here are all 3 finished albums!

This one was for my mother!

Initials of all her grandchildren on the front with an extra one that says "My Grandchildren"!

And the picture's on the back with an extra one that says "We Love you Gammys"!

The one was for my mother in-law!

The front with all the initials and the extra one that says "My Grandchildren"!

The back with all the pictures and an extra one that says "We love you Grandma Michelle"!

This one was for my stepmother in-law!

The front with all the initials and an extra one that says "My Grandchildren"!

The back with the pictures and an extra one that says "We love you Nana"!

You may notice that some of them didn't have pictures. That's because I didn't have pictures of those grandkids to put in there. Some aren't born yet, lol!
And of course I thought this idea was so cute I just had to make one for myself!

The front of my album!

One side with all my childrens initials!

The other with all the pictures!

Enough for two tutu's!

So in my post last night I said that I didn't have enough tulle to make my 5 month old daughter a tutu, but as it turns out I had just enough. I still need to buy a little more to fill in some holes but it came out pretty cute. I wanted to do a 2 tone color but only had purple left. Still came out nice! I also made her a headband as well but clipped on a big flower instead of glueing tulle onto it like my other daughters headband!

Close up fo the big flower clip!

Sitting on the couch!

What is all this stuff!

What a little princess!

Sitting on Daddy's shoulders!

Will be making more tutu's in the future! :0)

A tutu for my little princess!

I saw this little girl the other day wearing a tutu made from tulle and thought it was just too adorable. So I decided to make one for my 2 littlest girls. Unfortunetly I didn't buy enough of it to make 2 so I didn't get to make my 5 month old hers :0(
But my 2 year old loves hers so much, she won't take it off now, lol! I found this really easy tutorial on how to make them below:
http://www.gophotography.com/tutu/

I will difnitely be making a bunch more of these tutus in the the future!!! :0)

I think I ended up making hers a little too long but oh well. She will grow into it!!! The head band I made myself with stocking, tulle pieces and ribbon and some hot glue!!!

Chore board with left over craft stuff!

I've been wanting to make a chore board for my kids for some time now and the other day I came up with a great idea. I decided to use the extra scrabble board that I had from my past project, along with the letters and also left over scrapbook papers from the mother's day gifts I had made! I figure I should put them to use, other wise they would just be laying around for a while, and here's what I made!

This is the extra scrabble board I had laying around!

I flipped it over and used the back part. I put a line of glue down the middle so it wouldn't fold in half!

Started taking my pretty left over scrapbook paper and over lapping them down the center! I glued the entire pink one down and then as I over lapped the others I only glued the sides and the bottom so that I could slide in chore cards!

The middle is all done!

Then I added a strip of scrapbook paper on both sides of the board. Along with some flowers cut out from the scrapbook paper as well. I also glued some buttons in the center of the flowers!

I used scrabble letters on top for the CHORE-BOARD part and just wrote the kids names and stuff with marker!

Then I cut out rectangular pieces of scrapbook paper and glued more scrabble letters to the tops of the chores and wrote in the rest! Great way for my 3 year old to get to know her alphabets better!

And here it is all finished. I just need to glue some string to the back and hang it up on the wall!!! :0)

Bag sale bargain!

Today I got up super early to get to a bag sale that was going on at the local thrift store here on base. Of course the parking there isn't great so I showed up a half hour early to get a spot. My hubby kept the 3 little ones while I brought along my oldest daughter and her friend. I love these bag sales BTW. Anything you can fit into a brown paper bag or a green commissary bag for only $5 dollars! I was in there for about an hour and a half and made out with 6 bags full of clothes and a few other stuff!

Here's my lot of clothes. My 2 littlest girls really needed some new clothes and I came out with plenty. And it only cost me $30. I also got clothes for my oldest daughter, son, myself and a few for my hunny!!! Can't wait for the next bag sale!!! :0)
